LOOKING OVER THE SEA
This three-story residence was designed to be positioned next to a cliff with outstanding
views. The house was moved forward as much it is possible to be separated from its
neighbours’ dwellings and capture the best of the coastline scenery.
Due to the natural gradient of the terrain, the residence gives an appropriate response
towards the street and shows the whole three levels facing the sea. The access is
through a semi-buried courtyard which allows privacy from the sidewalk. Once on the
courtyard level, the house shows itself through a long and transparent hallway and the
sea appears in all its magnitude.
Most of the construction is in raw concrete and internal finishes are in Italian marble and
natural timber. The lowest level allocates the indoor pool and services, and the medium
level, all the living areas, kitchen, and master bedroom. The top level incorporates
bedrooms and living areas for children and guests.
To inhabit this house is like a promenade of different and singular experiences. All of
them are accompanied by the presence of the sea. The interior spaces are always
connected with external areas that provide light and a sense of expansion. The main
central stairs connect efficiently the three levels which are independent and promote
different functions.
